The decision is moving upstream
An AI agent may compare your offer, check availability and evaluate your terms before a shopper opens a product page. A persuasive page still matters. So does being eligible for the shortlist.
For the person
“Can I trust this choice?”
For the agent

Methodology
No public study gives one reliable number for agentic conversion in 2030. So we did not invent one. We combined measured data, independent forecasts and transparent scenario models.
Conversion, AOV, checkout and abandonment benchmarks from Adobe, IRP Commerce, Shopify, Dynamic Yield and Baymard.
Human-led, AI-assisted, agent-referred, agent-mediated and agent-executed purchases are defined and measured apart, never blended.
McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, Bain, Juniper, Gartner and Worldpay forecasts compared by what each actually measures.
Conservative, base and aggressive uplift ranges for 2027–2030, built from the measured trend, plus OpenAI and Google agentic commerce protocol requirements.

FAQ
Agentic conversion rate optimization makes a business selectable and transactable by AI agents. It optimizes machine-readable product truth, eligibility, verifiable proof, policies, real-time price and stock, and checkout reliability, so agents can shortlist, recommend and execute purchases.
Yes. Adobe reported AI-referred retail visits converting 31% higher than non-AI traffic in the 2025 holiday period, 42% higher in March 2026 and 60% higher in July 2026. These visitors arrive after AI has done much of the comparison, so their intent is higher.
No. The report forecasts a dual-interface economy. Human CRO stays decisive for trust, identity, emotion and high-stakes decisions. Agentic CRO grows fastest for repeatable, structured, low-risk purchases such as replenishment and renewals.
In 2027: separate human-led, AI-assisted and agent-executed orders in analytics, add AI-referral detection, and audit product truth across site, feed, ads and checkout. Then make product data, inventory and pricing agent-readable.
